On this side of the internet, we believe in love, light, and uplifting – makeup and hair should be fun. Should be exciting. Should be zen.

BUT I’m also a big fan of giving you the whole truth, because I believe if you have all the tools in your tool belt, there’s absolutely no reason your wedding day glam won’t be PERFECTION. CHEF’S KISS. THE CRÈME DE LA CRÈME.

Skincare Matters

Your perfect glam starts months and month before your trip down the aisle. Not only are you putting in the footwork to find the perfect makeup and hair artist for your aesthetic, but getting your skin prepped and your regimen under control.. that starts today. Now.

You can hire the most talented artist, but if your skin is looking dry, flakey, and rough… your makeup will also show up looking super duper textured. I recommend starting ASAP on a simple and effective skincare regimen to help in the process. You’ll want: Cleanser, Toner, Exfoliant, Eye Cream, and Moisturizer as a solid base – and guess what! When you book our team you get access to my bridal prep guide with production recommendations to help get you on the right track AND you have access to me, shoot me an email and we will talk about your needs and what will serve you best.

Your Makeup and Hair Should Match Your Aesthetic

I know, I know… it’s your wedding day. You want to go a little big, a little more dramatic. Pull out all of the stops. I GET IT.

BUT… And hear me out… We totally can! BUT wouldn’t you feel most confident as an elevated version of you? A beautiful, more polished, and truly elegant version of the style that you love on a daily basis is always my first recommendation.

Here’s Why: I’ve found when clients don’t recognize themselves, there’s a higher likelihood they will feel anxious or fidgety. I’ve found they don’t recognize themselves in the photos after the big day, or they are fixated on being uncomfortable instead of living in the moment. And while EVERYONE is soooo profoundly different, I’d say that most clients express not feeling like themselves when asked why they didn’t like their makeup with past artists and weddings.

This is why I always encourage clients to give thorough feedback about their desired bridal look, and feedback during the process about likes and dislikes. Makeup and hair should never leave you anxious and fidgety, and at the end of the day we want YOU to feel and look your best.

Dietary Choices Matter

Lemme preface this by saying this: Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to lose weight for the big day. You’re stunning and incredible the way you are! Seriously, you’re a knock-out.

BUT… The truth of the matter is that the food we put in our bodies, it has a strong correlation to the way our skin and body reacts. If you find yourself stress eating a ton of greasy foods with a high level of carbs, or heavily processed foods the few weeks before your big day – you run a higher risk of your skin breaking out, especially along your jawline. Is it the end of the world? Absolutely NOT.

But Heavily Processed Food + High Levels of Stress (because Aunt Suzie keeps texting you about her outfit) = The Perfect Storm for Wedding Day Pimples

Yes. God gave us concealers for a reason. BUT you’re going to remember the stress you felt thinking about that pimple throughout the day, so let’s do our best to alleviate the problem before it even shows up.

Choose Whole Foods, Low Levels of Processing, Healthy Fats, and Increase Your Water Intake – The result will be a stunning, lit from within glow!

Your Artist Should Match Your Vision

If you’re a trend chaser, a beauty risk taker, someone that likes to shake things up with an electric blue shadow – BABE, I LOVE THAT FOR YOU. But sadly, that’s not what we do here.

If you’ve glanced through our portfolio, you’ve noticed softly elevated looks. Natural tones. Monochromatic vibes. Understated beauty. And timeless, chic aesthetics.

And while I would love to give you a hot pink cut crease, that’s not where my skillet thrives. Instead I’d much rather share a few referrals that are more aligned with your style – because I want you to feel like the best version of you! So always pick an artist that can confidently execute the type of makeup and hair artistry you love, because that will make communication between the two of you much more seamless and ensure a flawless outcome!

Experience Matters

Experience in this industry, it matters. Your selected makeup and hair artistry team should have a strong understanding of the intimate workings of the wedding day, the flow of traffic, how to wrangle your bridal party into the chair. Experience in all skin types, tones, and textures – as well as all hair types and textures is also important. You want a team that can easily accommodate the full bridal party with ease.

While hiring your favorite influencer can be fun, or hiring someone brand new out the gate can be an adventure, you get one wedding day if we do this thing right, and it’s important to carefully select a beauty vendor that can deliver in a very big way!
